Recap (written by Paul):

Kind of small field for P123 at this race, 49 starters. Some hitters were out of town at Tulsa Tough so this almost felt more like an extension of the 2/3 race from earlier. There was a really big split early in the race with 12 or maybe even more guys which I luckily was a part of. Such a big group meant most of the teams were represented so the main group didn't put up much of a chase and we eventually caught them. That was exciting because this race features 20 laps in a row of $10 primes as well as a $100 prime for the first person to lap the field. I was patient and made a move to be first to catch the field but a strong kid followed me and nipped me at the end. I did get two $10 primes at least.

The end got a little confusing and messy as the break group caught and then made our way back to the front of the main group. Jon tried to keep me near the front and keep it fast near the end but there was just too much race left for one person to lead out. I was in what felt like a good position in the top few wheels with 4, 3, and 2 laps to go, but then not once it really mattered. At one point near the end some riders I recognized from the earlier break started moving up on the left side and I went over to follow them, then of course the side I had previously been on sped up and I wound up losing a lot of positions. I entered the final turn pretty far behind the leaders and was not in contention for the sprint, but wasn’t sure how many people ahead of me had lapped the field. I ended up in 11th.
