Recap (written by Adam):
Coming into landpark, we knew the team had good chances as there wasn't any team with a big enough presence to pose any threats. Sam and I also felt good on that day. The plan was pretty clear. Be opportunists, stay towards the front, and don't overwork our self for no reason. The whole race wasn't eventful except from a few pedal strike here and there. No one wanted to pull unless it was to win a prime.
The pace only picked up toward the end where everyone was fighting to be in position for the bunch sprint. Having done the course a month prior for the CalAggie crit, I knew the last chicane was the crucial spot to be in position. Unfortunately Sam was a bit too far back and was not able to move up. Being in the first 10 wheels, I was in a good position. I saw the CalAggie winner try to move up and I had to follow his wheel. I locked in so hard, I forgot to pay attention in the corned and pedal stroked really hard. So hard my power meter stopped working, but I managed to stay up. After the last corner, a small group of four launched their sprint and I followed. Aided by their draft, I managed to pass 3 of them, finishing 2nd.
Overall, it was a fun race, Sam and I did some turn at the front as well as some attacks, but nothing stuck. Not really a good course to easily get away.
