AV-B Ride Aug 15th: Montebello, RWG

This week we’re heading south to climb Montebello and enjoy some of the invigorating roads along the way. We will head out through the Los Altos Hills to warm up, then take Foothill Expressway south all the way to Montebello for the main climb of the day. On top we will hopefully enjoy a nice view and refill our bottles. Some of our knobby-tire friends may leave us here, but the rest of us will descend and continue along Stevens Canyon road to enjoy Redwood Gulch. It’s then through Saratoga and back through the maze with one (arguably) incorrect turn then back up Foothill to the start.

Our first regroup will be at the top of Black Mountain and Altamont roads and we’ll regroup at the top of every major climb and bottom of every major descent after that. The weather forecast looks relatively temperate for mid-August. The first scheduled water stop is not until the top of Montebello so bring enough to make it at least that far, or ask me on the ride for other options on the way for a quick top up.

Non-members are always welcome, but please complete the waiver once a year.
