Alto Velo Racing Team is one of the largest and most successful amateur racing teams in the Bay Area. With a roster of about 60 racers across both women’s and men’s teams, AVRT jerseys can be found at just about every NorCal race or group ride. Our 2023 team also found success at several out of state races including Tucson Bicycle Classic and Baker City Cycling Classic, and is growing for 2024 to include a Domestic Elite Team. Whether you’re a new rider preparing for your first-ever bike race or a seasoned racer looking for a team to join, please reach out or better yet, join us for the weekly A Ride.

Our goal is to grow the sport of cycling with a positive and inclusive environment for all. If you're on the fence about racing or aren't sure you can commit to a full schedule, that's ok! You can still participate in many club rides, training camps, and social events even if you ultimately decide racing isn't for you. And if you do fall in love with racing, the team is committed to supporting you through your growth as an athlete.

While we are primarily a Road team, AVRT riders have found success across many other disciplines including Cyclocross, Track, Gravel, and Mountain Biking.

As a member, racers receive:

• Reimbursement for all team selected races

• Inclusion in team training rides and sponsored team training camps  

• Specific strategies and individual roles for each race

• The opportunity to learn from the wealth of professional cycling knowledge in Alto Velo!
