Privacy Policy

AltoVelo.org is the website (the “Site”) for Alto Velo Racing Club, a California non-profit corporation (“Alto Velo”), which operates the Alto Velo cycling club. Certain sections of the Site are designed for and accessible to the general public, including potential new members of Alto Velo (“Non-Members”), and certain sections of the Site are private and are only accessible via a password by members of Alto Velo (“Members”). This Privacy Policy relates to both Members and Non-Members (collectively “users”).

All Users:  The Site is hosted and operates on a system designed and operated by a third party, SquareSpace (“Operator”), and all users should review the privacy policies of SquareSpace at https://www.squarespace.com/privacy. The site also uses a third party, BikeReg (part of Outside), to process member registrations and liability waivers, and all users should review the privacy policies of BikeReg/Outside at https://www.outsideinc.com/privacy-policy.

Non-Members:  Non-members’ use of the Site is anonymous and no personal information is requested by Alto Velo, gathered by Alto Velo, or stored by Alto Velo regarding Non-Members, but Non-Members should review the privacy policies of the Operator of the Site.

Members: Members provide certain personal information, such as contact information, to Alto Velo as part of their application for membership with Alto Velo. Alto Velo reserves the right to provide such contact information to third parties, such as sponsors of Alto Velo. Members should also review the privacy policies of the Operator of the Site.

Alto Velo’s Email List:  Users may provide personal information to Alto Velo if they voluntarily register to receive emails on the Alto Velo email list. Users are not required to register for the Alto Velo email list, and registration by users is voluntary. Any emails posted on Alto Velo’s email list by a Non-Member or Member is public information, and Alto Velo does not make any effort to keep the contents of the emails or email addresses confidential. Alto Velo reserves the right to provide personal information that it receives from Non-Members and/or Members when they register to receive emails on Alto Velo’s email list to third parties.

Links on the Site:  There are links on the Site that users may select which will direct the user to other web pages that are not operated by Alto Velo and over which Alto Velo has no control. If a user chooses to select a link to one of these other web pages, then the user should review the privacy policy of the other web page.

Children under 13:  This Site is not designed for or directed to children of the age of 13 years or under, and there are no Members of Alto Velo of the age of 13 or under. Alto Velo does not collect information about children of this age, and if you become aware that Alto Velo has been sent or received personal information about a child of the age of 13 or under, then Alto Velo will immediately delete the information once it becomes aware that such information has been provided to it.
