WHAT, WHERE, WHEN: At 9 a.m. every Saturday, the Alto Velo "B" Ride meets at Peet's in Los Altos. Ride leaves at 9:10!

RIDE ETIQUETTE: NEW RIDERS WELCOME! Be sociable with new folks. If you're at the front early on, KNOW THE ROUTE and please look back to see that the group is together (three souls gasping for air is not considered a group). Paceline when possible, wait at tops of longer climbs. Rolling regroups after difficult sections. Help people with mechanicals if you're in their vicinity. If someone has a mechanical at the rear, relay the message forward.

Try to stay together. Let someone know if you are going to drop off BEFORE THE RIDE or continue to the regroup area.

"B" SIGNIFICANT CLIMBS: Old La Honda, Tunitas Creek

REGROUPS: Alpine & Portola (quick), Skylonda, La Honda (rolling), San Gregorio, Old Woodside Store

PLEASE, keep a manageable pace after the regroups and difficult sections. DO NOT race back to Peet's, let's use the last few miles to recover from the ride, and take the chance and exchange few words with the person riding by your side!

RIDE SAFETY: Helmets required. The B ride obeys all traffic rules. Hold a wheel and ride steady. Pack riding skills required. At the regroups make sure stop off the road keeping it clear for traffic.
