Alto Velo measures success from many perspectives, including team dynamics. The 2009 season saw the Webcor Elite men become one of the most tightly knit teams on the circuit, with every rider contributing selflessly to the team’s success.

At the team’s January training camp in San Luis Obispo, the goals for the 2009 season were laid out:
  • Win local races
  • Attend west coast National Racing Calendar (NRC) events
  • Win the 2009 NCNCA Best All-around Team (BAT) classification
  • Wreak havoc on the morale of the competition
As the 2009 season progressed, it became apparent that many of these goals would be met.

As mentioned, the Alto Velo Elite 1/2 Team finished the season ranked 2nd in the BAT standings by a mere 28 points to the perennial powerhouse, the Cal Giant Cycling Team. Overall, the team garnered 14 victories, 41 top five finishes, and 36 top ten finishes. Add to that, three members of our team finished in the top fifteen of the Best All-around Rider (BAR) standings: Rand Miller (2nd), Fabrice Dubost (3rd) and Ryan Parnes (12th). Some of the significant wins for the team included all three CalCup Crits: Vacaville Grand Prix (District Crit Championships—Parnes), Giro di San Francisco (Dubost), and Suisun Crit (Miller); the Camp SLO Road Race (Dubost); and the Wente Omnium (Parnes 1st, Dubost 2nd).

The team is looking forward to the upcoming season. And, it welcomes several talented, experienced riders to the roster while retaining most of the core riders from previous years. Watch for an exciting 2010 season dominated by the Webcor/Alto Velo Elite Team as it aims to become the top team in the district!
