Membership DuesYearly membership dues are $75, which includes
a club jersey; access to special club deals on clothing and equipment;
race and travel reimbursements; and permission to check out special
equipment for time trials and bike cases for travel.
Renewing MembershipYou need to renew your membership each year.

Ordering Club ClothingSeveral clothing orders are run each
year. Generally, notifications about new orders are sent out on
the club mailing list. Order your kit now by downloading the 2007 membership form. The clothing order
form is on page two. For more information, contact the Clothing Czar,
Jeff Williams (clothing06 at altovelo dot org).
Note: Annual dues include one complimentary club jersey. See the table below for clothing delivery dates for the 2007 season. If you join after the final order deadline, you will receive a clothing credit for the following year – this is because all clothing is made to order and we maintain very little stock. A wide range of additional club clothing is available.
Club Mailing ListsTo subscribe to the Alto Velo electronic
distribution list, enter your email address in the box below, then
click on the "Join Now!" icon. You can receive the list via email, or
read it online at yahoogroups.com.
Another way to sign up for the list is to send a blank email message to
AltoVelo-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
The club also has several sub-team electronic distribution lists. To join, use the subscription method noted below. The list owner screens each request for authenticity.
Club MeetingsAlto Velo meetings are the third Monday of
every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Mountain View Police Auditorium. Club
meetings typically feature guest speakers on topics of interest to
cyclists, and bike racing tips from top racers in the club. The
Auditorium is located at 1000 Villa Street in Mountain View.
Directions: From Castro Street in Downtown Mountain View, turn North
onto Villa Street. The Police Auditorium is located two blocks down on
the right just past the Tied House Brewery. Note: Meeting dates
or times must occasionally be changed – check the monthly meeting
announcement on the club mailing list before venturing out.
Race ReimbursementA. Riders not on a separately funded team1. Eligible races are those officially
sanctioned by an organization
such as USCF or NORBA and are within the NCNCA region. Track races are
eligible based on OMNIUM standings. Training races are not eligible
even if they are sanctioned (for example, Early Bird Crits or weeknight
Twilight Crits).
2. You must wear the team jersey or skin suit in the race. If you're a first-year member and haven't received a team jersey, you can be reimbursed if you wear a generic (plain) jersey (some new members make an effort to borrow a team jersey). If you are a current member, you must wear the current year's jersey, unless the clothing order hasn't arrived, in which case you must wear the previous year's jersey. 3. The amount of the performance-based reimbursement is $20 ($10 for track races). 3A. INDIVIDUAL: To be eligible for reimbursement as an individual, you must finish as indicated in this table:
3B. TEAM: All club riders in a race are eligible for reimbursement if they help a club member to get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Please list the names of all team members in the race report. 4. After a race, write a race report and post it to the club electronic distribution list. All racers must write a report in order to receive
reimbursement, even those providing support to their team. a. name of race, and category For example: Diamond Valley RR, M35+ If you are claiming a result as a team member, indicate the
rider you supported. Riders on separately funded road teams receive any and all reimbursements from their team. No other race reimbursement or travel support is provided for road races. Track, cyclocross and mountain bike races covered within Section A will be considered separately from funded team road races.
Travel Support
You may petition for financial support (up to $200) to travel from the NCNCA district to out-of-district races. These are defined as significant events across the country and world. This particular budget is limited! You MUST petition prior to the event if you want support. Petitions may be made through the reimbursement coordinator (reimburse06 at altovelo dot org). |
